In order to work legally in Turkey, two basic documents are required:

Work visa

  • Work permit

These two documents are issued by different institutions and through different processes.


**1. What is a Work Visa?

**2. What is a Work Permit?

  • Issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security upon entry into Turkey.

**Who Gets a Work Visa or Work Permit?

According to Turkish labor law:

  • Applications are made by the employer.

**Work Permit Application Process in Turkey

  1. The foreigner must have a residence permit for at least 6 months.
