Tour plan
-
We begin our journey with a visit to one of the region’s most fascinating underground cities—Özkönak.
It is a true multi-level underground world where the inhabitants of Cappadocia once took refuge.
You will see:
- ancient ventilation shafts
- stone security doors
- living quarters
- food storage rooms
Here, it’s easy to feel the atmosphere of ancient history. -
Next, we head to the ancient Belha monastery complex, carved directly into soft volcanic rock.
A unique feature of this place is the mysterious bio-energy room, accessible via an underground tunnel.
Many visitors feel a special atmosphere here.
This place is often used for:
- short meditation
- restoring energy and calm
The place is surprisingly quiet and little known even among travelers. -
Our next stop is the historic town of Gülşehir, located on the banks of the Kızılırmak River.
Here we visit two ancient Christian churches: the Church of St. Demetrius of Thessaloniki and the Church of St. John;
These are rare monuments from the Byzantine era that offer a glimpse into the Christian history of Cappadocia off the beaten path. -
During the tour, we’ll stop for lunch at a traditional Turkish café. This is a great opportunity to sample the local cuisine and take a short break before continuing on our way.
-
The next stop is the Achyksaray rock-cut monastery complex.
It is a true ancient rock-cut city, where monks’ cells, halls, passageways, and ancient chambers have been carved into the massive rocks. The site gives the impression of a stone palace created by nature itself and the hands of the monks. -
If time permits, we’ll stop by the Red River.
After the tour ends, we’ll take you to Nevşehir Airport for your evening flight. The tour ends not at the hotel, but directly at the airport, making it the perfect way to spend your last day in Cappadocia.
